Friend,
I'm so excited to share something special today. What you are about to read is adapted from our devotional, Exceptionally Made. As my life is in a season of busyness, it can be harder to stop and remember my true reflection. I pray this message is an encouragement to you in this season!
If you need an extra reason to love Exceptionally Made, this devotional was created not only with the Fearless Teens in mind but by them. My talented niece thoughtfully drew the beautiful image attached today! When you buy a Fearless devotional, you support all of our programs to help us continue sharing life-changing content that encourages women of all ages to gain faith over fear!
"Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like." James 1:22-24 MSG
Don't Look in the Mirror and Forget Who You Are
I know what I look like. I’ve got lots of years under my belt looking in the mirror as I get ready. You’ve spent time looking in the mirror, too, or taking selfies and running filters over your images. Because of that, you remember what you look like.
In today’s Scripture, it says, “Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.”
It’s tough to forget what we look like. Why is that? This might sound weird, but it’s because we spend a LOT of time with ourselves. We’ve studied our reflection in mirrors and in pictures, therefore we know what we look like.
God’s Word is the mirror reflecting love into your life and changing you from the inside out. Today’s Scripture tells you it makes no sense to read this Devotional and then do nothing with what you learned. What good is that?
It's time to look into God's mirror. If the Bible is intimidating to you we suggest starting with a guided devotional. “Exceptionally Made” was set up for you to study Jesus, spend time with Jesus, and reflect His goodness into your life and into the lives of others.
I believe in you. I also believe you want to apply what you’ve learned from this quick message today. I don’t think you want to take in these words, the reflections I have for you, or art that touched your heart and just move on. I have a deep sense you want more and don’t want to forget all the beautiful lessons you’ve learned. My call to action is this: Go and look at your recent life, what you may have experience, journaled, and prayed about. See where God met you, challenged you, and changed you. Then hold onto it tightly and ask Him for more. Remember what He reflected in you!
Let's Dig Deeper and Reflect
List some things you prayed for and how God responded to those prayers.
How has God challenged you recently?
What do you hear God speaking to you after reading this post?
Create a plan on how you will continue to act on what you have learned?
God wants to shine His mighty light through you, be bold, hold your mirror for the world to see!
With love,
댓글
