I remember a time when one of my children felt intimated because everyone in the class knew their multiplication of two’s, and it seemed as though she was the only one who didn’t.
The lies began to creep into her head.
I’m the only one who is behind.
I hate math.
I’ll never catch up.
Why am I so slow?
Do you ever get into situations where you feel less than and believe lies about yourself that you are not good enough?
You may need to shift your focus and look at obstacles as opportunities.
In the new version of the movie Annie, she sings a big song called Opportunity. It’s a family favorite in our home.
I encouraged my sweet daughter about math and asked her a simple question. What if your challenge with math is an opportunity to grow? She looked at me so sweetly and started singing “Opportunity” from Annie.
Our friend James says obstacles equal opportunities too.
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. James 1:2-4.
My challenge to you is;
One, listen to the song Opportunity.
Two, reframe your obstacles as opportunities.
We'd love to encourage you through the opportunities in your life. If you haven't already, I encourage you to join our Fearless Facebook Community. Here we share encouragement-based posts and provide you a space to connect with other women walking in similar situations. You can also submit a prayer to the Fearless team and allow us to support you spiritually. I am rooting for you as you shift your focus and sing your opportunities!
With love,
